Job summary

Holy Family Bilingual Catholic School in Seattle seeks an experienced Facilities Manager/Custodian to maintain buildings and grounds for both parish and school operations. You will coordinate with contractors, manage inventory, and support event setup while ensuring safety and security of facilities.

The role requires physical work, knowledge of plumbing/electrical systems, and the ability to lead volunteers and staff with reliability and respect for Catholic mission values.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders.
• Knowledge of building maintenance including plumbing and electrical.
• Must pass background check and Safe Environment policies.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Ability to interact positively with staff, students and parishioners.
• Respectful and supportive of Catholic mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ongoing maintenance of buildings and grounds for the Parish and School.
• Represent the parish with outside contractors for major projects.
• Identify vendors and negotiate contracts.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize failures in systems.
• Diagnose problems and make repairs to buildings.
• Schedule boiler/fire safety inspections and ensure safe operation.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and assist with events.
