Job summary

ARCHDIOCESE OF SEATTLE PAYROLL SERVICES is seeking a Custodian to clean and maintain parish buildings and grounds. Responsibilities include daily cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking supplies, with involvement in event setup and general campus upkeep.

The role requires attention to detail, physical ability to lift heavy objects, and flexibility to work varying hours. Prior custodial experience in a parish or educational setting is preferred and safety protocols must be followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of verifiable custodial experience, preferably in educational/parish settings.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, bend and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and clean safely with chemicals.
• Willingness to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks in parish buildings and classrooms.
• Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors, carpets, mats.
• Clean surfaces, desks, shelves, chairs, vents, windowsills, doors, and light switches.
• Empty trash and ensure proper waste disposal and recycling.
• Maintain campus grounds cleanliness and ensure hygienic restrooms by disinfecting and replenishing supplies.
• Assist with event setup (chairs, tables, A/V equipment) and moving items as needed.
• Communicate inventory and supply needs to Administrative Assistant for ordering.
• Follow safety protocols and SDS, operate cleaning equipment safely, and maintain a secure environment.
• Support parish staff and maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
