Job summary

The Church News seeks a Facilities Manager for the Meetinghouse Facilities Department in Pago Pago Samoa Malaeimi Stake, reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager. This permanent full-time role oversees operations, maintenance, and the planning of meetinghouses and related properties within the region.

You will lead teams, coordinate contractors, monitor budgets, ensure safety compliance, and travel to remote islands as needed.

Qualifications

• 6 years of related experience or progress toward a degree or certification.
• Facility Management Professional (FMP) certification required or to be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Knowledge of facility and property management, construction procedures, safety and fire codes.
• Proven front-line management skills in a multi-discipline environment.
• Ability to communicate professionally with employees, leaders, contractors and vendors.
• Proficient with computers, cell phones and CMMS, MS Office, department software, and web tools.
• Understanding of MFD systems and ability to teach others.
• Ensures inclusion of appropriate departments in decision making and shows commitment to learning.
• Displays integrity and wise judgment; able to travel to remote islands.
• Proof of legal right to work in American Samoa; police background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Meticulously preparing and implementing operations and maintenance plans
• Scoping and pricing building replacements and improvement projects
• Diligently inspecting facilities to ensure compliance with approved standards
• Managing resources including staff, contractors, and vendors to execute annual plans
• Securing contractors and vendors to meet specifications
• Managing allocated budgets within defined parameters
