The Church News seeks a Facilities Manager for the Meetinghouse Facilities Department in Pago Pago Samoa Malaeimi Stake, reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager. You will lead teams, coordinate contractors, monitor budgets, ensure safety compliance, and travel to remote islands as needed.

Qualifications

• 6 years of related experience or progress toward a degree or certification.
• Facility Management Professional (FMP) certification required or to be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Knowledge of facility and property management, construction procedures, safety and fire codes.
• Proven front-line management skills in a multi-discipline environment.
• Ability to communicate professionally with employees, leaders, contractors and vendors.
• Proficient with computers, cell phones and CMMS, MS Office, department software, and web tools.
• Understanding of MFD systems and ability to teach others.
• Ensures inclusion of appropriate departments in decision making and shows commitment to learning.
• Displays integrity and wise judgment; able to travel to remote islands.
• Proof of legal right to work in American Samoa; police background check may be required.

Job Description

The Meetinghouse Facilities Department (MFD) is seeking the right candidate for the role of Facilities Manager as part of the ASM FM Group based in Pago Pago Samoa Malaeimi Stake. This is a permanent full-time position reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager.

As Facilities Manager, you will manage, support, and monitor the operations and maintenance of Church facilities within a geographic boundary under the direction of the Regional Facilities Manager. The role serves as the main point of contact for all physical facility-related inquiries and concerns. Additionally, it plays a crucial role in preventing building deterioration and prolonging building life through diligent adherence to operations and maintenance processes and standards.You will be responsible for the planning and functional adequacy of Church meetinghouses and related properties in addition to coordinating their maintenance.

Responsibilities

Meticulously preparing and implementing operations and maintenance plans

Scoping and pricing building replacements and improvement projects

Diligently inspecting facilities to ensure compliance with approved standards

Competently managing resources including staff, contractors, and vendors to execute annual plans

Skilfully securing contractors and vendors, ensuring that work and services meet established specifications

Carefully managing allocated budgets within defined parameters

Qualifications

6 years of any combination of related experience or progress towards or completion of a relevant university (post-secondary) degree or an industry-recognized certification.

Facility Management Professional (FMP) certification is required or must be obtained within 1 year of hire

Knowledge in facility and property management, construction procedures, business practices, safety and fire codes.

Proven front-line management skills in a multi-discipline work environment and ability to manage difficult situations to achieve a positive and appropriate resolution.

Ability to communicate professionally with employees, priesthood leaders, contractors and vendors.

Must be proficient in the use of computers and cell phones.

Must understand and be able to use computer maintenance management systems (CMMS), MS Office applications, department-specific software, web-based programs, internet services, and wireless communications.

Has a strong understanding of the systems, processes, procedures, and programs of the Meetinghouse Facilities Department and the ability to communicate and teach others.

Displays organizational knowledge to ensure inclusion of appropriate departments and individuals in decision making.

Shows a commitment to continued learning.

Uses wise judgment and has high integrity

Ability to travel to remote islands

Proof of legal right to work in American Samoa
