Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of all facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and cleaning services.
  • Coordinate and supervise external contractors and vendors to ensure quality service delivery and contract compliance.
  • Develop and monitor budgets for facility management, including forecasting and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Plan and execute facility improvement projects, including renovations, space planning, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support their facility-related needs and minimize disruption to operations.

Job description

The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety of all physical buildings and infrastructure within the organization. This role ensures that facilities meet government regulations, health and safety standards, and organizational requirements, providing a safe and productive environment for all employees and visitors. The Facilities Manager will lead and coordinate maintenance teams, manage vendor relationships, and oversee budgets related to facility operations. They will also develop and implement strategic plans for facility improvements and sustainability initiatives. Ultimately, this position plays a critical role in supporting the organization's operational success by maintaining optimal facility conditions and minimizing downtime.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Proven experience managing budgets and vendor contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certification such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP).
  • Experience with sustainability programs and energy management.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Background in project management and construction oversight.
  • Experience working in a multi-site or corporate environment.
  • Knowledge, education and experience in HAVCR (Commercial education and experience is highly desired but not required.)
  • Experience in Troubleshooting, fire alarms, HVACR, pump motors, fan motors. Plumbing, electrical (low and high voltage).
  • Knowledge and experience in building automation and controls.
  • Experienced in building mechanicals.
  • Knowledge and experience in building codes.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm monitoring systems. (Not highly required and can be taught quickly)
