Job summary

PENN Entertainment is seeking a Facilities Supervisor to lead the Facilities staff in maintaining HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems at a busy property. You will develop schedules, control labor costs, and ensure guest satisfaction while coordinating projects and budget planning.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and hands-on maintenance knowledge, including reading plans and specs; proficiency with Microsoft Office is essential to succeed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • Two years of related experience and/or training; leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC and Carpentry trades; trade license preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage Facilities staff handling maintenance, installation and repair of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Develop and monitor operational goals; manage labor costs and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in budgeting and report budget concerns to management.
  • Coordinate new maintenance and construction projects; read plans/specs.
  • Ensure OSHA compliance and oversee schedules for equipment maintenance.
  • Promote superior customer service and ensure department standards are met.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supervising and managing staff in the Facilities department who conduct general maintenance, installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems. Develops, implements and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives.
  • Creates effective and efficient schedules, while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives and achieving guest satisfaction.
  • Responsible for assisting in the budget process for the department and provide recommendations; ensuring compliance to departmental budget initiatives; reporting budget concerns to manager.
  • Assists in coordinating all new maintenance and construction projects. Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Assists in coordinating the Facilities team members in the assignment and inspection of the assigned work duties.
  • Inspects projects after completion for satisfactory results.
  • Ensures OSHA standards are followed within the department.
  • Schedules repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous operations.
  • Coordinates outside contractors for grounds and landscaping needs.
  • Conducts a daily inspection of the property to ensure that it is clean, attractive and fully functional. Implements immediate remediation of problems.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise. Responsible for the overall achievement of department customer service goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to Executive Management/GM.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for staff development and training programs.
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.
  • Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employeesregarding performance.
  • Determines recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.
  • Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.
  • Responsible for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling).
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior leadership experience is preferred.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC and Carpentry trades, along with knowledge of generators, fire pumps, and electrical switchgears; trade license is preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Previous experience with all aspects of maintenance and engineering (special emphasis on electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, and maintenance of all equipment).
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications.
