Qualifications

Introduction

We are seeking aFacilities Manager to join our Metso York team. You will be responsible for managing the operations, maintenance, and overall day-to-day functions of the Metso facilities, which involves planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating modifications and upkeep efforts. Your role plays a crucial part in ensuring facility efficiency, safety, and functionality, which will contribute to maintaining a productive and compliant working environment. In this position, you will report to the Site Steering Committee.

This position is mainly located in York, PA, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.

You will join a team of facilities, maintenance, and operations professionals who are passionate about keeping our work environment running smoothly and efficiently. Our team strives to provide a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility that supports all business functions. We are currently managing daily facilities operations, vendor relationships, and preventive maintenance programs.

We work closely with internal stakeholders such as business leaders, office staff, procurement, and IT, and external partners like building owners and third-party service providers. Our team culture is all about collaboration, accountability, and proactive problem-solving. The members in our team are located in York and other Metso offices across the region.

What you’ll do
• Oversee day-to-day facility operations, including space planning, maintenance, and vendor coordination
• Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications and repairs in alignment with the site steering committee
• Manage preventive maintenance programs for facility equipment such as HVAC and telecommunications systems
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal facility requests and external service providers
• Track and coordinate lease agreements in collaboration with legal and real estate teams
• Oversee 3rd-party services including cleaning, landscaping, snow removal, and equipment repair
• Maintain company vehicles and ensure timely service and upkeep
• Assist with securing permits and supporting safety/insurance needs in coordination with corporate departments

Who you are
• 5+ years of progressive experience in facility/maintenance or industrial operations
• 5+ years of supervisory or management experience
• Associate’s degree or equivalent education and experience
• Strong understanding of building maintenance, cost accounting, budgeting, and ADA/OSHA regulations
• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
• Ability to lead through influence and manage third-party vendors and contractors
• Nice to have: Experience with building permits, safety protocols, or construction project management
