Job summary

Humane Society of Tampa Bay is seeking a full-time Facilities Manager to oversee building projects, maintenance and grounds at our Tampa and Clearwater locations. The role includes managing projects, supervising groundskeeping and fleet maintenance, and coordinating with vendors to schedule work and repairs.

Experience with animal care environments is preferred; forklift certification is a plus. A generous benefits package and company vehicle are provided.

Qualifications

• Verbal and written communication for coordinating with contractors and occupants.
• Budgeting and accounting to meet budgets and identify cost savings.
• Analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Business management including scheduling and planning.
• Understanding of building and safety regulations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Experience working with animals preferred.

For over a 100 years, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay has been dedicated to ending animal homelessness and providing care and comfort for companion animals in need. We’re currently seeking a full time Facilities Manager to oversee the building projects, maintenance and grounds of our Tampa and Clearwater locations. The functions of this role include, but are not limited to, managing projects, building maintenance, overseeing the groundskeeping, fleet maintenance and working closely with our vendors.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Implementing and managing various projects for animal hospital and two shelters (Tampa and Clearwater)
• Overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of the property grounds
• Maintaining the fleet of vehicles
• Building maintenance and repairs
• Working with vendors to schedule projects and maintenance

Qualifications:

• Verbal and written communication, including active listening, for determining and discussing building needs and communicating these to contractors, suppliers and the occupants
• Mathematics and accounting to meet budgets and identify cost-saving measures
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving
• Business management, including scheduling, strategic planning and administration
• Understanding of current building and safety regulations
• Computer literacy and confidence using Microsoft Office
• High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED)
• Good driving record required
• Fork lift certified preferredSalary is negotiable based on experience
