Job summary

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, seeks a Facilities Manager for our Virginia, Henrico site. You will oversee maintenance, space planning, and daily operations of office, manufacturing, warehouse, and related facilities, reporting to the Sr Facilities Manager.

Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering (or related) and at least 5 years in facilities engineering with supervision; knowledge of manufacturing operations; proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and coordinate safety programs per OSHA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities engineering or related field, including supervision.
  • Prefer some knowledge of manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrates mastery of expertise in multiple areas and understanding of Flex.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and alteration of office, manufacturing, warehouse, and related facilities.
  • Coordinate space planning, housekeeping, and layout of facilities.
  • Manage, coordinate, and direct design, planning, construction, and alterations of building structures and equipment.
  • Ensure safety programs and OSHA compliance.
  • Coordinate budgeting, procurement, and reporting for facilities operations.

To support our extraordinary team who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Facilities Manager located in Virginia, Henrico. Reporting to the Sr Facilities Manager the Facilities Manager role will be in charge of managing, coordinating, and overseeing various functions for the facilities organization including maintenance and alteration of office, manufacturing, warehouse, truck yards, parking, and landscaped areas and equipment, as well as layout, arrangement, and housekeeping of the aforementioned facilities.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Controls inter-building communication installations and maintenance.
  • Supervises maintenance and alteration of all areas and equipment within the building(s), as well as layouts, arrangements, and housekeeping of all facilities.
  • May oversee cafeteria and/or food service operations.
  • Analyses and standardizes various facilities procedures to improve efficiencies.
  • Defines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Assigns duties for subordinates and examines work for conformance to policies and procedures.
  • A portion of time is normally spent performing tasks related to the facilities unit.
  • Coordinates purchase orders within budget guidelines and files monthly reports to accounting, corporate, and/or facilities management.
  • May coordinate, manage, and direct the design, planning, construction, maintenance and alteration of building structures, equipment, machinery, and other facilities infrastructures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Higher Grades Duty Summary (in addition to performing or overseeing duties listed above, the manager may perform some or all of the following additional responsibilities):
  • Inspects plant and evaluates use of space and facilities.
  • Evaluates firm's HVAC systems, computer network wiring, lighting and other factors.
  • Plans, budgets and schedules various regional facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts and contracts for construction and acquisitions.
  • Performs audits to support facility planning.
  • Develops long range plans, conceptual designs and capital outlay requirements and documentation for various facilities.
  • Formulates and coordinates program specifications, requirements for proposals and contracts and associated documents.
  • Acts as liaison to public utility, environmental and energy agencies.
  • Inspects construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
  • Reviews real estate contracts for compliance with government specifications and suitability for occupancy.
  • Oversees the coordination of building space allocation, layout and communication services.
  • Oversees and directs maintenance personnel and workers engaged in facility equipment installation, facilities equipment repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Oversees development and updating of the Disaster Recovery Plan and ensures site readiness.
  • Oversees facilities safety and training programs, first aid and First Responder program, Hazmat, Lock-out/Tag-out, chemical handling safety, MSDS data sheets, compliance to OSHA regulations.
  • Oversees contracted cleaning services.
  • Completes corporate, governmental and site reporting.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, related degree or equivalent experience and training.
  • requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities engineering or related field, including supervision.
  • Prefer some knowledge of manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrates mastery of expertise in multiple areas and industry.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of the function and a thorough understanding of Flex and related business.
  • Requires ability to present information to top management.
