Facilities Manager – Leading Manufacturing Company
Salary: $110,000 – $125,000 per year.
Job Description
My client is a leading global designer and manufacturer of high-performance lifting and pulling devices for military and civilian aircraft, including rescue hoists, winches, and cargo hooks. As they grow, they are adding a Facilities Manager to their team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all physical assets of the building and capital equipment.
- Oversee utilities management and recommend improvements to sustain operating efficiency.
- Supervise and coordinate upkeep and maintenance of facility grounds.
- Manage the hazardous waste program and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as OSHA safety standards.
- Execute and maintain the company’s Environmental Management System (EMS) in compliance with federal/state regulations, OSHA rules, and AS9100 and ISO 14000 standards.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute annual and quarterly inspection calendars.
- Maintain all related logs, checklists, and inspection records.
- Perform and/or coordinate pre-audits and inspections related to EMS compliance.
- Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to ensure operational alignment.
- Oversee all plant engineering functions required for production, including modifying equipment to meet operational needs.
- Specify, approve, and manage outside contractors for construction and repair work.
- Review contractor work to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Manage and monitor the maintenance budget.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- Minimum of seven years of experience in a related manufacturing or shop environment.
- Hands‑on experience with HVAC and boiler systems.
- Practical skills in welding, electrical, and plumbing work.
- Experience operating elevators and forklifts.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management standards.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with PC applications; MRP system experience preferred.
- Experience coordinating Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and environmental compliance programs (preferred).
- Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 14000 standards (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets (preferred).
