Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Facilities Manager in Newnan, GA, to lead the Plant Operations and Engineering teams. The role ensures preventive maintenance, safety, regulatory compliance, and effective vendor management across campus facilities.

You will drive cost analysis, budget planning, and staffing initiatives while coordinating with leadership on capital projects and life-safety programs. A strong background in healthcare facilities and Lean practices is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 7–10 years of Plant Operations/Construction Management experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years in Plant Operations/Construction Management.
• Preferred Certification: Healthcare Facility Management or related certification.
• Preferred Experience: Hospital or healthcare facility experience.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a team of maintenance engineers; working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Plant Operations supervisor and Engineering team members. Assist and ensure the preventative maintenance on all physical plant and building equipment is compliant with internal and external standards. Verify preventive and demand work done by maintenance staff. Responsible for compliance with building life safety, joint commission regulations, OSHA, NFPA, NEC and other similar standards. Additional responsibilities include plant inventory, conducting safety rounds and managing the audio-visual needs of the hospital. Responsible for maintaining and negotiating with all contracted Plant Operations vendors and maintenance suppliers. This will include contract negotiations. Responsible for maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers and making recommendations on changes when required. Assist leadership in creating department budgets and cost analysis. Provide monthly cost and budget update to leadership.

• Conduct regular facility and grounds inspections to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain life safety testing records, Joint Commission documentation, EOC plans, and emergency preparedness protocols.
• Report unsafe conditions, system changes, shutdowns, and modifications to leadership and safety officers.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with annual budget preparation and manage departmental expenses and inventory.
• Optimize equipment performance to reduce utility costs and minimize operational risk.
• Ensure high staff productivity aligned with facility and operational requirements.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

• High School Diploma or GED and 7–10 years of Plant
  Operations/Construction Management experience; OR
  Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management,
  or related field and 3+ years of Plant Operations/Construction Management experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Healthcare Facility Management or a related certification

• Skills/Abilities: Proven ability to lead and manage a team of maintenance engineers
• Software: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
