Summary: The Facilities Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility, building infrastructure, utilities, grounds, and production support equipment within a high-reliability electronics manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on working manager position responsible for leading the Facilities Department while actively participating in troubleshooting, maintenance, equipment repairs, facility improvements, and operational support to ensure business continuity and manufacturing readiness.

The Facilities Manager provides leadership for facility operations, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, contractor and vendor management, capital improvement projects, and maintenance planning. This role also provides leadership and oversight to the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) function through the direct supervision of the EHS Specialist, ensuring EHS programs are effectively supported, appropriately resourced, and aligned with regulatory requirements and company objectives, while partnering closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Human Resources to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient workplace.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the daily operation, maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure, utilities, production support equipment, and grounds to support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.
  • Perform and oversee hands-on troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance activities involving building systems, utilities, and manufacturing support equipment as required.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to maximize equipment reliability, extend asset life, and minimize operational downtime.
  • Manage and maintain facility systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air systems, plumbing, fire protection systems, emergency generators, building automation systems (BAS), dock equipment, and other critical infrastructure.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee facility improvement projects, equipment installations, infrastructure upgrades, and contractor activities while managing project schedules, budgets, vendor performance, and service quality.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the EHS Specialist to ensure environmental, health and safety programs remain aligned with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Support the EHS Specialist in the successful execution of regulatory inspections, environmental compliance activities, contractor safety programs, emergency preparedness initiatives, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation by providing leadership, resources, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Develop and manage departmental operating budgets, maintenance expenditures, contractor services, spare parts inventory, and capital improvement spending while identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, inspections, regulatory documentation, and vendor service records utilizing CMMS and other facility management systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, facility performance, energy efficiency, operational effectiveness, and customer support.

  • Environmental, Health & Safety Oversight: Ability to provide leadership and oversight for the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) function by supporting regulatory compliance, promoting workplace safety, and guiding the successful execution of EHS programs through the EHS Specialist.
  • Capital Project Management: Ability to plan, coordinate, and oversee facility improvement projects, infrastructure upgrades, equipment installations, and capital investments while managing scope, budgets, schedules, and project outcomes.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Ability to develop, manage, and monitor operating and capital budgets while identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency and optimize facility resources.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ability to ensure facility operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, industry standards, building codes, and company policies.
