Giordano’s is seeking a Facilities Manager in Chicago to lead restaurant facilities projects, manage repairs, and maintain assets to brand standards within budget. You will coordinate bid reviews, keep schedules, and provide judicious recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires hands-on upkeep across HVAC, kitchen equipment, walk-ins, and safety compliance, plus strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to travel up to 50% as needed.

Qualifications

  • 4 years related restaurant facilities experience.
  • Experience in facilities management, HVAC, kitchen equipment and/or refrigeration.
  • 7+ years in all phases of commercial/multi-unit facilities management.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to follow processes.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with contractors and customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Consults and coordinates with restaurant operators to identify repair/maintenance needs for critical items (pizza oven, HVAC, fryers, ovens, walk-ins).
  • Manages major repairs and bid phases to ensure timely, cost-effective maintenance.
  • Schedules and supervises maintenance tasks, coordinates contracted services, ensures facilities meet standards.
  • Hands-on engagement: perform maintenance/repairs at locations as needed.
  • Maintain detailed logs of repairs and prioritize critical projects for optimal facility performance.
  • Identify and reallocate equipment to existing stores.
  • Process service requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Perform routine building and systems upkeep and scheduled PMs.

Salary Range: $90,000.00 To $110,000.00 Annually

The Facilities Manager will perform facilities project management, including timely repair/maintenance review, bid review, construction/repair coordination. Works within assigned budgetary parameters to ensure facility assets are maintained to brand standards. Exercises independent judgment and provides consultative advice to internal and external in facilities maintenance project management.

ESSENTIAL
  • 4 years related restaurant facilities experience

  • Proficiency in project management software, and Microsoft Office Suite

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Consults and coordinates with restaurant operators to identify repair or maintenance requirements for restaurant operational critical items, including pizza oven, HVAC, fryers, ovens, and walk in coolers.
  • Manages all major repairs and bid phases to complete repair/replacement of each project to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance.
  • Scheduling and supervising maintenance and repair tasks, coordinating contracted services, and ensuring that our facilities meet company standards.
  • Hands-on engagement: Complete maintenance and repair tasks that are needed within each of the locations.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and administrative abilities. Maintain a detailed log of all repairs and maintenance work, prioritizing critical projects to ensure optimal facility performance.
  • Conducts identification and reuse/reallocation of equipment to existing stores.
  • Completing service requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Perform routine building and systems upkeep and repairs as well as scheduled PM's of the buildings and mechanical systems..
  • Estimating, costing, and ordering materials to complete work assignments
  • Respond to all emergency maintenance requests at any time
  • Be courteous, professional and organized.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
FACILITY & GENERAL MAINTENANCE
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to reduce operational disruptions.
  • Perform light plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building repairs as needed.
  • Maintain tools, parts inventory, and service records.
  • Participates in the RFMA (Restaurant Facilities Management Association)
  • Knowledge or work experience with Service Channel, ECO Track
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
  • Follow OSHA, health department, and Giordano’s safety guidelines.
  • Document all repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Recommend process or equipment improvements to reduce future breakdowns.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders, and perform tasks in hot/cold environments.
  • Standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order new supplies as needed.
