Job summary

The Schochet Companies are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager for Plumley Village in Worcester, MA. You will oversee day-to-day maintenance operations, lead the maintenance team, and ensure high standards of property upkeep across a 430-unit community.

Required are 8+ years in maintenance with progressive responsibilities, multifamily experience, and a valid license with own transportation. Strong leadership, budgeting, and communication skills are essential for coordinating service

Responsibilities

• Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs assigned staff.
• Schedules and assists with daily operations (service orders, repaints/re-carpets, apartment turnovers).
• Develops and adheres to maintenance budget and authorizes expenditures.
• Coordinate service contracts and oversee vendor/contractor activities.
• Quality control checks for completed work by maintenance staff, contractors and vendors.
• Communicate effectively with residents, associates, vendors and supervisors.
• Conduct and document regular property inspections and communicate results.
• Inspect vacated apartments and complete make-ready checklist.
• Be available on-site during weather or property emergencies.
• Enforce company policies, rules, safety practices and regulations

Job Details: Job Location: Plumley Village - Worcester, MA 01608, Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $90,000.00 Salary, Job Category: Facilities, Schochet is currently hiring an Experienced Facilities Manager for Plumley Village in Worcester, MA.

The Facilities Manager is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day maintenance operations of the property. Direct all operations of maintenance team and will be responsible for ensuring the property is maintained to a high standard. Must have extensive experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair and unit turnover procedures, along with proven leadership and supervisory experience. Plumley Village is a 430unit Family Apartment Community.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs assigned staff. Reviews and evaluates performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals
• Schedules and assists with daily operations (service orders, repaints/re-carpets, apartment turnovers, etc.)
• Develops and adheres to maintenance budget. Authorizes maintenance expenditures
• Coordinate service contracts and oversee any vendor and contractor activities
• Quality control checks for completed work by maintenance staff, contractors and vendors
• Communicate effectively with residents, fellow associates, vendors and supervisors
• Conduct and document regular property inspections and communicate results
• Inspect vacated apartments and complete ‘make-ready’ checklist and inform manager of needed services and repairs
• Required to be available and often on-site in the event of a weather or property emergency
• Enforces and adheres to company policies, rules, safety practices and regulations

This position requires 8+ years of experience in the maintenance field with demonstrated progression of responsibilities. Multifamily experience is highly desired. Formal training in facilities management, or building trades, or equivalent professional experience is required. Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, residential staff, and the public (vendors, tenants, government officials, etc.) Must have valid license and own transportation.
