Job summary

McWane Science Center seeks a Building Maintenance team member responsible for repair, security, safety and support of the facility, guests and staff. Daily maintenance, event setup, and handling shipments are key duties.

The role requires CPR certification or the willingness to obtain it, a high school diploma or GED, and flexibility to work nights and weekends. A valid driver’s license is also required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years experience with responsibility for people and property.
• General mechanical aptitude required.
• Experience in plumbing, painting, drywall repair, minor electrical and HVAC helpful.
• CPR certified or willing to obtain CPR certification.
• Must be dependable with flexible hours including nights/holidays; weekend work required.
• Valid driver license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and upkeep of the facility.
• Assist with setup and break-down for events and lunches.
• Receive and handle shipments of materials.
• Facilitate safety and evacuation procedures.
• Assist other departments as needed.
