Job summary

Tybee Island Trails is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to perform routine maintenance and repairs across the facility, ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include responding to requests, inspections, and supporting upkeep of the building and grounds.

The role requires basic knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems, a positive attitude, and reliable teamwork. Prior healthcare facility experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Minimum three years of experience in a maintenance/plant related position.
• Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Long-Term Care Facility preferred, but not required.
• Working understanding of electrical, HVAC, mechanical and architectural systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance of the property including grounds and physical plant, such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and lighting repairs.
• Mows, weeds, debris removal, flower bed upkeep, and facility maintenance tasks.
• Maintains records and performs preventive maintenance on medical equipment.
• Ensures safety compliance and follows fire safety and OSHA guidelines.
• Communicates with maintenance director and coordinates with external services when needed.
