Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician in Phoenix, AZ to partner with the Building Engineer to keep the facility livable, safe and compliant through regular inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs.

The role covers mechanical, electrical, fire safety, HVAC and building systems, plus overseeing preventive schedules and logs. Strong teamwork and independent problem-solving are essential for on-site emergencies and inspections.

Qualifications

• Organized with ability to prioritize/work to incoming demands.
• Able to use tools, equipment and chemicals safely.
• Troubleshoot problems and identify timely solutions.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Great attention to detail in maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure building and systems are maintained properly and in safe working order (mechanical, electrical, fire safety, access control, HVAC/chiller/boiler, sprinkler systems).
• Maintain recreational amenities (pool, spa, lounge, dog park, common areas).
• Assist in keeping common areas clean and free of debris.
• Conduct routine inspections and manage preventive maintenance schedules.
• Keep accurate logs of operations, maintenance and repairs.
• Coordinate and perform modifications and improvements as needed.
• Schedule and coordinate state inspections (fire systems, elevators, recalls).
• Ensure timely handling of emergency maintenance situations.
