Job summary

Walmart is hiring a Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance in Athens, GA. You’ll perform routine preventive maintenance, inspect and repair facilities and equipment, and help ensure safety, compliance, and quality across our Walmart facility.

You will manage work orders, coordinate with contractors, order parts, and document all maintenance activities. The role requires operating heavy machinery, following OSHA and EPA guidelines, and upholding Walmart’s safety standards.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventive accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the FMCSA, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines.
• Inspects, cleans, and repairs facilities, equipment, or fixtures; observes and documents signs of wear and tear; gathers capital expense information.
• Recommends repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs; determines replacement needs; documents preventive maintenance activities.
• Uses heavy machinery; manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors; completes written and electronic information.
