Job summary

TST Fab & Machine is seeking a dependable Facilities Technician to maintain and support our Norfolk, Virginia manufacturing facility. You will handle maintenance tasks across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs to keep the plant in excellent condition.

The role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety. Excellent teamwork and the ability to manage multiple tasks in an industrial setting are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance work within your qualifications.
• Perform general building and facility maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct routine facility inspections and identify needed repairs or safety concerns.
• Maintain doors, locks, lighting, fixtures, shelving, work areas, and other facility components.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain basic maintenance records.
• Assist with moving, installing, or relocating equipment, furniture, and workstations.
• Maintain exterior areas, entrances, walkways, fencing, parking areas, and grounds.
• Respond to facility maintenance requests from supervisors and management.
• Assist with facility improvement and repair projects.
• Coordinate with approved outside contractors and service vendors when specialized work is required.
• Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and maintenance areas in a safe and organized condition.
• Identify and immediately report conditions that could affect employee safety, production, or facility operations.
• Follow all TST safety procedures, PPE requirements, and applicable OSHA requirements.

Position Summary

TST Fab & Machine, LLC is seeking a dependable, hands‑on Facilities Technician to support the maintenance, safety, and day‑to‑day operation of our manufacturing facility.

This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, takes pride in keeping a facility in excellent condition, and is comfortable handling a variety of maintenance and repair tasks in an industrial environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for extended periods.


• Bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, and pulling.


• Climbing ladders and working from approved elevated platforms when properly trained and authorized.


• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds independently, with appropriate assistance or equipment used for heavier loads.


• Working indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.


• Working safely in an active manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This position works throughout an active metal fabrication and manufacturing facility. Employees may be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, welding and fabrication operations, moving equipment, vehicle traffic, and varying temperatures. Required PPE must be worn as applicable.
