Job summary

Franklin County Government is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to keep County facilities safe and functional. You will perform electrical, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and HVAC tasks, with emphasis on journey-level trades and independent initiative.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus journey and advanced level experience in building trades.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license required.
• Completion of Defensive Driving, First Aid & CPR, MSDS and related safety training within six months.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical, carpentry, painting, plumbing and HVAC tasks at journey level.
• Inspect and repair building systems and equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
• Maintain lighting, wiring, and fixtures; install/repair doors, walls, and ceilings.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance and respond to work orders.
• Assist with custodial duties and on-call emergency response as needed.
• Coordinate with contractors and document issues from inspections.
