Job summary

B Bowery Residents' Committee invites applications for a full-time Maintenance Technician to help keep our facilities safe and welcoming for New Yorkers experiencing homelessness. You will perform hands-on repairs and routine upkeep in a demanding community setting.

Responsibilities include carpentry, painting, plumbing, some electrical work, preventative HVAC and water system maintenance, deliveries, and on-call support for emergencies.

Qualifications

• Three years of building maintenance and/or trades experience.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• English communication ability; Fire Safety Director Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of facility.
• Perform carpentry, painting, plumbing, and some electrical repairs.
• Maintain heating/cooling and domestic water systems.
• Receive and store deliveries; on-call for emergencies; participate in fire safety duties.
