Job summary

City of Annapolis (MD) seeks a maintenance worker to perform semi skilled plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical tasks across the Pip Moyer Recreation Center at Truxtun Park and Stanton Community Center. You will inspect, repair and maintain facilities to ensure safety and comfort for users.

Requirements include a high school diploma or trade training, three years in related trades, and a valid driver’s license. The role involves physical work in all weather and environments.

Qualifications

• Three years in one or more related trades, preferably in a maintenance organization with a formal preventive maintenance program.
• High School Diploma and/or trade school coursework.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi skilled plumbing, corrective and preventative maintenance using required tools and equipment.
• Repair drains and toilets, fixtures, and water faucets; install minor plumbing fixtures.
• Perform semi skilled carpentry and electrical maintenance across facility areas; build shelves, install ceilings, paint, and finish surfaces.
• Operate electrical components such as receptacles, switches, and portable tools safely.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for visitors and staff.
• Follow local, state, and federal laws and safety regulations during all work.
