Job summary

The Village of Mount Prospect is seeking a Maintenance worker to perform a variety of facilities maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, masonry and landscape work. The role requires stamina to stand, bend and lift; overtime and on-call duties may apply.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or equivalent, with apprenticeship or related associate degree preferred, and a valid Illinois CDL Class B license or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings to identify functional systems and needed repairs.
• Perform minor plumbing, painting, carpentry and masonry work.
• Reconfigure and install/remount modular offices and spaces.
• Pave patching, maintain storm sewer systems, plow snow, and landscape work.
• Operate equipment such as backhoes, loaders, street sweepers; on-call/overtime as needed.
