Job summary

Meadowbrook Respiratory and Nursing Center is seeking a facilities technician to help ensure Life Safety Code compliance and oversee maintenance across building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.

The role involves coordinating with vendors, supporting the fire safety program, completing preventive maintenance tasks, and assisting with emergency preparedness drills. On-site work and dedicated onboarding will occur to ensure safety and regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities

• Ensures facility remains in compliance with Life Safety Code and related regulations.
• Plans and supervises preventative and unplanned maintenance including painting, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and electrical work.
• Assists with oversight of outside vendors and contract/work orders.
• Supports Fire Safety program compliance, drills, training, and safe handling of oxygen and electrical safety.
• Supports OSHA training requirements and hazmat, PPE, ergonomics programs.
• Assists with developing and implementing Emergency Preparedness Plan and staff training drills.
• Implements preventive maintenance tasks and documentation for facility and utility systems.
• Assists in standardizing maintenance methods and completing painting tasks.
• Ensures compliance with safety and building codes; reads blueprints to monitor electrical, HVAC, and other systems.
• Runs and assesses facility machinery, equipment, and buildings; onboarding tasks performed on-site.
