Job summary

Fayette County Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance and repair work on county buildings, grounds, and facilities. This full-time role covers carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and custodial tasks as described.

Key duties include inspecting facilities, performing routine maintenance, servicing HVAC systems, handling plumbing and electrical tasks, and completing other related duties as assigned. Benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and competency in building maintenance basics.
• Experience with carpentry, electrical, plumbing or related trades preferred.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular inspection of county facilities and equipment.
• Performs general building maintenance, carpentry and related repair tasks.
• Performs routine electrical tasks: install/repair outlets, switches and lighting.
• Performs plumbing tasks: install/repair fixtures, clear drains, repair leaks.
• Maintains HVAC systems and related controls, and assists in repairs.
• Troubleshoots maintenance issues and performs emergency repairs as needed.
• Repairs doors, hardware, windows and finishes surfaces as required.
• Keeps facilities clean and safe; assists with minor remodels and renovations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
