Job summary

Community Housing Advocates in Hartford, CT is seeking a Maintenance Tech II-III to perform repairs across CHA sites, including carpentry, HVAC, plumbing and painting. The role involves heavy lifting and moving items, and working at multiple sites.

You will follow safety practices, enter work orders, and respond to emergency needs as directed by the Facilities Manager. This is a full-time, on-site role with a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: One year technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. High school diploma or GED equivalent expected.
• Language Skills: English required; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Certificates, licenses, Registrations: CT driver’s license and clean driving record; vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine repair and maintenance: basic carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, painting.
• Handle heavy manual labor: moving furniture/equipment and heavy items.
• Perform routine cleaning at agency sites as needed.
• Follow safe working practices and safety equipment use.
• Follow cleaning and grounds schedule; some light landscaping and snow removal.
• Enter hours and notes into the work order system; report hazards to Facilities Manager.
