Job summary

Carolina Hurricanes seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician II to perform skilled maintenance and advanced repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and other facility systems with minimal supervision. You will troubleshoot and repair components in line with SOPs, building codes and safety protocols.

The role supports on-call rotations, meetings/trainings, and inventory maintenance. A high school diploma is preferred, with 5+ years of electrical and/or HVAC experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, and

Job description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician II performs skilled maintenance and advanced repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and other physical structures with minimal supervision. Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with standard operating procedures, State building codes, internal requirements, manufacturer specifications and safety protocols.

Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Follow established dress and behavioral codes.
  • Attend meetings and training classes to keep up to date on building policies and procedures as required.
  • Participate in the facilities on call rotation.
  • Maintain inventory of all equipment and tools.
Experience
  • Preferred: 5+ years of electrical and/or HVAC experience including troubleshooting HVAC components, electrical systems, controls, motors, conduit installation and general knowledge of the electrical code.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Candidate must have knowledge of basic mathematical skills.
  • Candidate must have the ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions as well as adhere to building policies and event requirements. Must have knowledge of and ability to follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs and to stand, bend and stoop for long periods of time and climb stairs to inspect and handle problems.
  • Candidate must be willing to work in a fast paced, team environment, be willing to work a flexible schedule to include different shifts revolving around event schedule as needed including evenings, weekends and holidays hours.
  • Candidate must have ability to interact with fellow employees and general public in a professional manner.
  • Must have a valid NC driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
