Job summary

St. Joseph Health is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance, including rough carpentry, painting, and basic equipment repairs. All electrical or plumbing work is performed under supervision by qualified personnel.

You will help ensure a safe, comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role involves maintaining machinery, HVAC systems, and control systems, keeping detailed maintenance records, and building cabinets or fixtures as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of related work experience required.
• Experience with basic carpentry, painting, and general repairs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, and control systems using hand and power tools.
• Keeps records of equipment repairs and maintenance.
• Observes mechanical devices and control systems in operation; adjusts parts and instruments as needed.
• Prepares surfaces for painting, applies undercoats and finishes; matches paints and finishes.
• Constructs cabinets, shelves, and specialty items from blueprints or sketches.
• Performs general repairs to facilities, including furniture systems and fixtures.
