Job summary

Casper College is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician I to perform preventive maintenance and repairs across plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in campus facilities, including student quarters.

The role involves safe operation of building systems, record-keeping, and coordinating with Supervisors. Must be able to perform physical labor and work 6:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M., Monday through Friday, with potential for after-hours emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year in general building maintenance work.
• Experience in plumbing, electrical, heating, or carpentry maintenance.
• Willingness to perform physical labor for full shifts (8 hours) and overtime as needed.
• Ability to follow policies, procedures, and safety standards; operate general office equipment.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assigned work; maintain professional working relationships.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs for College facilities.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Maintain records of filters, replacements, and repairs.
• Inspect and clean belts on exhaust fans and air handling equipment monthly.
• Inspect and clean HVAC equipment as needed.
• Keep mechanical rooms clean and organized.
• Inform supervisor of potential problems or failures.
• Remove snow and ice from steps and entrances as needed.
• Follow work orders and maintain inventory of supplies.
• Carry College-provided cell phone and two-way radio while on duty.
• Report hazards, injuries, and accidents to supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
