Job summary

Ottawa County is seeking a full-time facilities maintenance worker to perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and related building systems at the West Olive facility. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, minor carpentry, drywall work, and debris removal to ensure safe and functional operations.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with 3 years of related maintenance experience; a Michigan driver’s license is required with potential

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED combined with three (3) years experience in maintenance and repair of building operating systems, building and grounds maintenance or general construction and remodeling.
Must have the ability to gain certification to operate equipment as required by MIOSHA/OSHA within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Perform semiskilled labor for preventive maintenance and repair of building features, fixtures, furnishings and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and electronic).
Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance, change filters, check belts/pulleys, lubricate moving parts.
Repair or replace damaged components of building features and operating systems; maintain security systems and exterior lighting; read gauges and adjust controls as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas; monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies when necessary.
