Job summary

Nueces County seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on county buildings and facilities. The role requires electrical and/or mechanical maintenance skills, and readiness to be on duty before, during, and after disasters or emergencies as directed.

Candidates should have basic education and experience in maintenance, be able to read safety rules and operate various tools, and possess a valid Texas driver's license with clean driving history.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of plumbing and electrical repair.
• Ability to operate and maintain a variety of power and manual tools.
• Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of preventive maintenance routines on equipment.
• Repairs light fixtures and replaces ballasts.
• Installs conduit, electrical wiring, plugs and light fixtures.
• Repairs heating/air conditioning systems and plumbing.
