Job summary

Nueces County is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to assist with installation, diagnosis and repair of electrical systems across county facilities, including jail buildings. The role involves following supervisor instructions, inspecting equipment, reading schematics and ensuring safety during emergencies.

Experience in building maintenance and ability to handle high voltage components are important, with a Texas driver’s license and background check required.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in building maintenance including electrical equipment repairs.
• Military or technical school training in telecommunications repair is desirable.
• Ability to read safety rules and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair on electrical systems in county buildings.
• Inspect and repair access-control, video surveillance, fire alarm, and lighting systems.
• Read blueprints and diagrams to install or repair circuits and components.
• Maintain safety standards and coordinate with supervisors during emergencies.
