Job summary

The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Maintenance Worker I to perform daily rounds, inspect and repair items logged at each department location, and assist with day-to-day operational projects.

You will support hospital facilities staff, follow work orders, and contribute to continuous quality improvement while maintaining a courteous, independent work style. This role is on-site within the healthcare complex.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Strong mechanical knowledge; vocational training helpful.
• Ability to follow written work orders and instructions for installations.
• Ability to safely use hand and some power tools.
• Ability to communicate well with managers, co-workers, hospital staff, patients and visitors.
• Conducts him/herself as a self-directed professional, courteous attitude, works independently with minimal supervision, and strive for continuous quality improvement.
• NYS certification for Asbestos O&M preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds throughout the complex noting and repairing all items logged at each department location.
• Assist with day to day operational projects and support other facilities staff as assigned.
