Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste systems.
  • Facilitate subcontract maintenance activities when needed.
  • Assist with facility projects: painting, drywall, carpentry, fixture installation, moving furniture/materials.
  • Collaborate with trades contractors to complete projects.
  • Work independently within established procedures.

WORK LOCATION: Huntsville, AL

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $24.00 to $35.00perhour This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.

SUMMARY

Performs basic and routine facilities maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality, and safety standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Following standard operating procedures, installs, inspects, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management systems.
  • Facilitates subcontract maintenance activities when scope is beyond capable repair.
  • Assists with miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall, carpentry, installation of fixtures, and moving furniture or materials within the facility.
  • Works with or assists trades contractors to complete projects or complex repairs.
  • Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
  • Use of company vehicle for required supply runs as delegated.
  • Assumes all other responsibilities as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years’ experience with additional specialized training and/or certification
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and think proactively.
  • Able to problem solve and communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Honest, trustworthy, reliable, respectful
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Ability to operate scissor lift and forklift and maintain certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
