Job summary

Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to monitor and keep the facilities in prime condition. The role covers general maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and coordination with vendors for preventive maintenance, with after-hours availability for emergencies.

The technician will conduct routine rounds, ensure safety compliance, and document maintenance and inspections in line with QA procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in cleaning and basic facility maintenance.
• HVAC certification preferred; knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and drywall repair; pressure washer and cleaning equipment.
• Awareness of safety/OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Actively maintains a clean, safe, professional, and orderly atmosphere throughout the facility and grounds.
• Conduct quarterly fire drills for care centers, and annual fire drills for administration, documenting drills.
• Routinely addresses facilities appearance and safety with attention to hallways, bathrooms, and parking lots.
• Perform and assist with facility inspections and preventive maintenance documentation.
