Job summary

Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure building systems operate reliably, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical maintenance. You will address after-hours emergencies and coordinate with vendors to maintain facility standards.

Daily responsibilities include rounds of interior/exterior spaces, safety compliance, and keeping areas clean and presentable for patients and staff.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
1-2 years of experience in cleaning and basic facility maintenance recommended.
HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and basic mechanical knowledge.
Awareness of safety/OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

Actively maintains a clean, safe, professional, and orderly atmosphere throughout the facility and grounds.
Conduct quarterly fire drills for care centers, and annual fire drills for administration.
Routinely changes air filters and performs routine HVAC maintenance.
Install lighting, ballasts, and assist with moving heavy items as requested.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
Perform security rounds before the start and end of shifts.
Set up and take down tables, chairs, and audiovisual equipment for events.
Demonstrate initiative and plan/logistical organization to meet deadlines.
