WINGS Program, Inc. in North Chicago, IL is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain safe, clean environments across our residential facilities.

You will perform preventative maintenance on building systems, complete routine projects, assist with renovations, and oversee contractors to ensure work matches specifications. The role requires 4+ years in maintenance, strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, and the ability to troubleshoot.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant work experience required.
• High proficiency with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems; ability to troubleshoot.
• Experience in appliance repair preferred.
• Knowledge of safety precautions (OSHA) required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with professionalism.
• Must have valid IL driver's license.
• Willingness to use personal tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on building systems regularly.
• Complete routine general maintenance projects including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and equipment repair.
• Assist with special projects, renovations, and construction as needed.
• Maintain working knowledge of building systems and codes.
• Complete work orders within prescribed timeframes.
• Communicate with staff and volunteers as requested.
• Assist in overseeing contractors to ensure work matches specifications.
• Make cost containment recommendations.
• Complete required documentation timely and accurately.
• Maintain variable hours to meet facility needs, including evenings and weekends.
