Job summary

North Slope Borough seeks a facilities maintenance worker to perform routine care and repairs of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and security systems. The role covers upkeep of facilities and grounds, with duties ranging from carpentry to preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/12 years of education and related work experience.
• Two years of combined work experience in carpentry, mechanics, electrical, or plumbing.
• Valid Alaska Driver's License meeting insurance criteria.
• Possess or obtain required safety and training certifications within probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and security systems.
• Maintain and repair physical structures as needed.
• Use power tools and other departmental equipment to perform basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, air conditioning, plumbing and/or other repairs and maintenance.
• Inspect facilities, equipment and grounds for necessary repairs, improvements or preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records and inventory control/Receiving Reports.
• Perform janitorial duties on the grounds and in the facility.
• Perform duties as assigned by the work order(s) received.
• Comply with all safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
