Job summary

AEP Service Corporation in Columbus, OH, is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to service HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems at our downtown HQ. The role requires hands-on maintenance, coordination with contractors, and adherence to safety and contract terms.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, general repairs to building components, and maintaining records. Overtime and on-call shifts may be required, including evenings and weekends, with indoor/outdoor work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years as Building Maintenance Technician B (or 3+ years equivalent).
• Valid driver's license and HireVue assessment.
• HVAC or electrician license or CFC refrigerant certification preferred; willingness to pursue.
• Overtime, travel, and weekend/evening shifts may be required.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, schematics and use a computer.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive/predictive maintenance on HVAC, generators, and building systems.
• Repair and operate HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment per codes.
• General maintenance: drywall, painting, roofing, ceilings, tiles, windows.
• Coordinate with contractors and teams on maintenance and construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and safety rules.
• Housekeeping and inventory tasks; procure parts.
• Maintain records and submit reports.
