Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipment. The role supports production by diagnosing issues and performing preventive maintenance with increasing duties based on experience.

Starting rate is $18 to $20 per hour, with room for future advancement. The position requires the ability to work in harsh environments, lifting up to 50 pounds, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; progression in technician training.
• 1–5 years diagnosing and repairing equipment.
• Ability to work with a team and in US work environment; lift 50 lbs frequently.
• Overtime flexibility may be required.
• Excellent listening, problem solving, multitasking; reading/writing English required.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets equipment manuals to perform maintenance.
• Prevents plant breakdowns with preventive maintenance on conveyors and rotating equipment.
• Communicates equipment issues resolution to operators.
• Works in dirty environments; performs maintenance with various small tools.
• Establishes procedures to meet production schedules and notifies supervisor if more work is needed.
• Recommends improvements to production and equipment performance.
• Inspects and maintains recycling equipment (discs/belts) for proper MRf operation.
• Participates in training and other learning opportunities to support company goals.
