Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair county facilities, keeping spaces and infrastructure in good working order through routine or on-demand maintenance. The role offers career growth within the Facilities Management Department.

The position requires two years of repair/maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Arizona driver's license.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience involving repair and maintenance tasks, including semi-skilled trade work.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license and acceptable driving record at hire.
• PREA background investigation required for access to detention facilities.
• Three years of experience in a large commercial/industrial/institutional environment preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Maximo preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and complete repairs on work orders, including routine or emergency repairs.
• Respond to service calls across all Maricopa County buildings and close work orders in the system.
• Replace air filters, belts, ballasts, bulbs, switches, outlets, and low-voltage motors; prioritize on-site tasks.
• Operate hand tools and power equipment to perform building maintenance and repairs.
• Perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, and mechanical tasks as needed.
• Use computers/mobile devices for time management, inventory and work assignments.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision.
