Job summary

Oak Park Skilled Nursing Facility is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to handle standard maintenance tasks and basic repairs around the center. You will work closely with the maintenance director and keep facilities and grounds in good condition, ensuring safety and accessibility for residents and families.

The role requires basic wiring, plumbing, and carpentry knowledge, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must read, write and understand English.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Follow directions from the maintenance director/supervisor.
• Maintain building and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Perform minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, etc.
• Care for tools and equipment.
• Remain on call for emergencies 24/7.
• Provide customer service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.
• Perform other duties as requested.
