Facilities Maintenance Technician – Gilliatte General Contractors. Full‑time position located in Indianapolis. Gilliatte has been in business for 40 years, is licensed in 38 states, and employs over 45 dedicated staff.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and identify equipment in need of repair.
• Troubleshoot issues to determine required repairs.
• Plan repair work using building blueprints or equipment manuals.
• Perform general repairs not requiring specialized technicians, including drywall, painting, plumbing, appliances, light electrical, doors and other building fixtures.
• Perform routine maintenance on building systems.
• Clean and assist with upkeep of the facilities.
• Order supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
• Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
• Use hand tools and power tools.
• Experience in apartment maintenance or facilities maintenance strongly preferred.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Moving Vehicle Report.
• Background check may be required.

Education & Experience

• 1+ years of related experience in the commercial or residential fields.
• On‑the‑job training offered.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
• Capable of lifting 60 pounds at a time.
