Job summary

RIVPL in LaPlace, LA is seeking a maintenance technician to perform routine and specific maintenance services across facilities and equipment. The role covers plumbing, carpentry, painting and mechanical repairs, with emergency backup responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in maintenance or facility operations required.
• Knowledge of standard practices, procedures and tools in the general building/maintenance trades preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair to facility and equipment including plumbing, carpentry, painting and mechanical equipment repair or similar.
• Act as back-up for call person in case of emergency and respond timely.
• Handle all equipment safely and demonstrate good working knowledge of tools and their safe use.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedule and complete reports as requested.
• Inspect and maintain emergency power equipment, test/generate weekly, and maintain fire alarm systems and extinguishers.
• Inspect and maintain plumbing systems and repair fixtures as needed.
• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
