Job summary

Rich Ford in New Mexico is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to oversee the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of dealership buildings, equipment, and grounds.

You will perform HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, drywall, painting, and general building repairs, maintain records, coordinate with vendors, and ensure safety standards. This full-time role offers a 5‑day work week with alternating Saturdays and added benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial building or facilities maintenance experience required.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems and preventative maintenance.
• Experience with plumbing, carpentry, electrical, drywall, painting, and general building repairs.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to determine when a repair can be safely completed in-house vs. contractor.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities with limited supervision.
• Dependable, organized, and able to respond to maintenance needs.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; resident.
• Pre-employment background checks including MVR and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs across dealership facilities and property.
• Troubleshoot and perform routine HVAC maintenance and repairs.
• Diagnose and complete basic to intermediate plumbing repairs (faucets, toilets, drains, water lines).
• Perform carpentry repairs and minor construction projects.
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs (lighting, switches, outlets, fixtures).
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, walls, ceilings, flooring, cabinetry, shelving.
• Perform drywall repair, painting, patching and cosmetic repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Inspect facilities and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized services.
• Assist with estimates, scheduling repairs, and verifying completed work.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and replacement parts; respond to urgent repairs.
• Maintain records of preventative maintenance, inspections and projects.
