Job summary

The City of Destin seeks a Maintenance Technician to upkeep city properties, buildings and facilities. The role involves minor plumbing, carpentry, electrical and preventive maintenance as part of routine operations.

You will support parks, rights-of-way and grounds maintenance, with on-call duties and weekend availability as needed. Valid Florida driver’s license and basic maintenance skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and one year of work experience involving maintenance of grounds and facilities.
• Valid Florida driver's license required.
• CPR certification, FDOT Flagger certification, and SCUBA certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and minor repairs on city facilities and grounds.
• Operates trucks and lifting devices to move loads and performs related tasks.
• Inspects and maintains heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical and sprinkler systems.
