Job summary

City of Deltona is seeking a Full-Time Exempt Facilities and Grounds Maintenance Worker for the Parks and Recreation division. This role conducts routine custodial duties, including cleaning, restrooms, floors, and basic repairs under close supervision.

The job features a 36-hour workweek and requires a high school diploma or GED plus at least three months of facility maintenance or janitorial experience; a Florida driver’s license is required, with on-call duties and possible weekend and

Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
Requires three months experience in facility maintenance, janitorial work or closely related experience.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, buff and wax floors; clean mirrors, light switches, sinks, restrooms and other fixtures; replace container liners and wash windows.
Prepare and submit records and reports such as daily logs, time sheets; communicate with supervisor, City personnel, vendors and the public.
Perform general building and grounds maintenance including replacing light bulbs, minor electrical/plumbing repairs, moving furniture, painting interiors, sprinklers and cleaning bathrooms.
Conduct security and safety checks of buildings, including doors, alarms, fire extinguishers and equipment; take corrective actions as needed.
Maintain inventory of supplies; request orders; store, mix and use chemicals for cleaning; keep closets neat and orderly.
