Job summary

Koniag Operations Services, a Koniag Government Services company, seeks a Maintenance Technician to support facility operations at a federal government installation in Charleston, SC. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems with emphasis on safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, holds an active Secret clearance, and maintains accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training in a building trades, mechanical, electrical, or HVAC field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or related trades.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in commercial, industrial, or government facilities.
• Valid EPA Section 608 Technician Certification for handling refrigerants (Universal or applicable type).
• Training certifications in related maintenance fields with annual continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance inspections of building systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Respond to work orders and service requests promptly to minimize disruption.
• Inspect and repair HVAC equipment (air handling units, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, etc.).
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment logs.
• Coordinate with management and contractors to schedule maintenance tasks.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety regulations.
• Assist with general building maintenance and minor carpentry/painting as needed.
