Job summary

428 Healthcare is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to support our facility operations in Florida. You will perform general building maintenance, repairs, and safety related tasks to ensure a clean, safe environment for residents and staff.

The role requires experience in commercial maintenance, the ability to read and follow directions, and a professional, compassionate attitude when interacting with elderly residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with commercial maintenance and repair of buildings, plumbing, electrical systems, alarm systems, appliances, and HVAC.
• General construction experience preferred.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Professional appearance and attitude required.
• Ability to solve problems and make independent decisions when needed.
• Genuine care for elderly and disabled residents.
• Ability to interact tactfully with residents, families, staff and public.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with others.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Patience and positive disposition; willing to handle difficult people.
• Willingness to adopt new methods and integrate into practices.
• Able to relate information about a resident’s condition.
• Must not pose a direct health or safety threat.

Responsibilities

• Assist with landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, and planting.
• Maintain and repair building systems including plumbing, electrical, alarm, and HVAC.
• Service and repair doors, locks, windows and screens; replace light bulbs and air filters.
• Perform carpentry tasks and use hand tools and saws.
• Repair ceilings, walls, floors, and fixtures; caulking and painting as needed.
• Maintain safety equipment and complete life-safety records.
• Assist with fire drills and building evacuations.
