Job summary

Lakeview Terrace Retirement Community in Altoona, FL is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment, systems, and facility structures. You will respond to maintenance needs, including after-hours on-call, support recordkeeping, and coordinate with the Director of Plant Operations.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, at least 1 year in facilities maintenance, basic electrical knowledge and tool handling; salary is $17.00 per

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 1 year experience in facilities maintenance.
• Basic understanding of electrical and other systems.
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills required.
• Preferred: certificate in a similar trade or 2 years experience in facilities maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair on equipment, systems, and facility structures.
• Respond to maintenance needs, including after-hours on-call responsibilities and support recordkeeping.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules on all large equipment.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, woodwork repairs and painting as requested.
• Maintain facility’s appliances, heating and cooling systems as needed.
• Work independently and carry radio as directed by Supervisor; attend required trainings and ensure compliance with regulations.
